Your first week with a new VA
The first week sets the tone for the whole engagement. Here is how to make it count, and what we do on our side.
Before day one
- Access list. Prepare logins for the tools your VA will use. Use a password manager where possible instead of sharing raw passwords.
- First tasks. Write down 3 to 5 concrete tasks for week one. Small, real, and checkable beats vague and ambitious.
- Communication home base. Decide where day to day chat happens: email, Slack, WhatsApp, or your own system.
Day one
We introduce your VA, confirm the schedule and timezone overlap, and make sure time tracking is running. You should see tracked hours from the very first shift.
During the week
- Do a short daily check in, even 10 minutes. Week one questions are cheap; month one misunderstandings are expensive.
- Record your screen when you explain a process once, so it becomes training material forever.
- Give feedback early. Filipino professionals are famously polite; be explicit that you want questions and pushback.
Our checkpoints
We review tracked hours and activity during the first week and check in with you and with your VA. If anything feels off, tell us immediately, that is what we are here for.
